Nimbus - a vacation matching app

Inspired by dating simulations, Nimbus serves as a fresh take on discovering what you love, in terms of traveling and meeting other travelers along the way.

Project Overview

For this project, I challenged myself to explore UX/UI design, then branched out to other mediums of advertising the product and service that a brand like Nimbus would provide. The messaging kept it cohesive, with an adventurous but simplistic vibe that could appeal to all types of people.

Wireframes

In my wireframes, I wanted to explore a rough ideation of what I envisioned the app to look like, and the flow of how each interaction would go. I wanted to replicate the smooth workflow of well known dating apps, while keeping the layout clean and approachable. The challenge I ran into was keeping the messaging consistent throughout the project and exploring the technical skills of new software, like Figma.

Social Media Posts

When expanding into how the brand would advertise itself on social platforms, my goal was to find a new way to connect to a potential audience where you would have a limited time to catch their attention. I explored this by keeping the messages engaging, yet simple. The warm imagery used was also a way to invoke a feeling of wonder about traveling.

The app mockups were designed in Figma, where I created the screen flow of a potential user of the app. With this, I wanted to highlight the features I think they’d be introduced to first. The integration of grids and styles really improved the speed of my workflow in this software.

Billboards

Additionally, I created these billboards (digital and physical) to fully flesh out the feel of the brand and its messaging. It felt like a way of concluding the project, while still leaving it open to any more additions.
