Print Design

The premise of this project was to create a magazine concept, in which I decided to focus mine on unique films and what techniques they use to tell a story.

For this volume, it would focus on the film, 'Excalibur’ (1980s), where they use technicolor tricks to tell an immersive and striking story.

The tools I used for this project were InDesign and Photoshop. InDesign for a cohesive layout with paragraph styles and Photoshop for photo manipulation.

Throughout the magazine, you could see the grainy effect that I added to really sell the nostalgic, static feel of an old movie.

My biggest challenge was balancing the typography with the imagery so that neither one overpowered the other. Using a grid system helped organize the layout and create a clear visual structure.

Overall, I’d say this project is a great highlight of my skills in terms of a print design that is both artistic and informative of film techniques.
